Co-operation with schools: CMCK & Uraha Foundation Malawi are promoting the "Hominid Casts for Schools" program in collaboration with Uraha Foundation Germany. One German partner school is paying 150 Euro per school-partnership. Each school in Germany and Malawi then receives one cast of a fossil hominid for school lessons. Promotion of Tourism: CMCK & Uraha Foundation Malawi are offering a variety of historical tours through Karonga District ranging from half day to two days. Furthermore the program provides a Regional Learning tour for Primary and Secondary schools to places of historical interest such as Mbande Hill Iron Age site and Malema excavation site. | Community Sensitization: Drama groups, Lectures and Music Performances are helping to make the project known on local, regional and national level. With the play "Uraha Foundation - digging in history" Chikolopa Performing Arts are creating awareness about the Museum and the fossil work in the field. Karonga public is enjoying the way Miracle orphan drama group has managed to revive the dinosaurs. See our movie page for dinosaurs and drama groups in action. |

Arts & Crafts: Pottery, Sewing, Carving & Weaving, traditional crafts and products suiting the content of the Museum e.g. dinosaurs from local cloth, bags etc. are being sold at the Museum shop, assisting the local industry to generate their own incomes.

Public Relations: PR and Fundraising are core activities of the small CMCK-team. Up to now around 600 000 Euro have been pledged for the project; some 200 000 more are needed to complete all structures. Click here for more information about becoming a contributor. Food for work programs: Uraha Foundation Malawi was assisting local initiatives with food for work programs in order to support the project in community sensitization and fieldwork. These programs provided job opportunities for about 30 families in the District.

Research co-operations & internships: the project is co-operating with several initiatives on national and international level including Mzuzu University, Teachers Training Centers, Lions Club, M.I.R.A.C.L.E project & Chaminade Secondary School, Wildlife & Environmental Society of Malawi, Antiquities Department of Malawi, Arts & Craft Department of Malawi, Senckenberg Research Institute Frankfurt/Germany, University of Frankfurt, ZIAF (Centre for interdisciplinary Research of Africa), University of Osnabrück etc. The project has been visited by many excursions, voluntary work has been provided through internships and free aid.
